Postmortem examinations using magnetic resonance imaging: four year review of a working service.

چکیده
An impressive downward trend in cases of occupational skin diseases in hairdressers has occurred in Northern Bavaria over the past decade. This seems to reflect improvements in working conditions due to new legislation and intensified preventive measures rather than a change in the natural history of occupational skin disease. Because of the size of the region studied and the sampling scheme, the findings can be generalised and applied to Germany as a whole. 3 Although the prognosis for recovery from occupational skin disease has not changed significantly over the past five decades, cooperation between dermatologists, government physicians, employers, employees, the competent workers’ compensation board, the hairdressers’ guild, hair cosmetics manufacturers, and legislative authorities has led to a reduction in occupational skin diseases in hairdressing. However, to achieve a longlasting reduction, interdisciplinary cooperation must be continued and primary prevention should start as early as possible, preferably by legally binding supplementary medical pre-employment examination. The Principle G24 “Skin diseases (other than skin cancer)” is under discussion in Germany.

Use of Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Food Quality Control: A Review
Modern challenges of food science require a new understanding of the determinants of food quality and safety. Application of advanced imaging modalities such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has seen impressive successes and fast growth over the past decade. Since MRI does not have any harmful ionizing radiation, it can be considered as a magnificent tool for the quality control of food prod...
متن کاملFactors Associated with Requesting Magnetic Resonance Imaging during the Management of Glomus Tumors
Background: The characteristic clinical presentation of glomus tumors and the low negative predictive value of themagnetic resonance imaging (MRI) raise the question whether MRI improves their management. Therefore, this studyaimed to investigate whether MRI improved the management of glomus tumors. Methods: In total, 87 patients with a histologically confirmed glomus tumor wer...
متن کاملDiagnosis of Meningitis Caused by Pathogenic Microorganisms Using Magnetic Resonance Imaging: A Systematic Review
Introduction: Bacterial meningitis is an acute infectious inflammation of the protective membranes covering the brain. Its early diagnosis is vital because of its high morbidity and mortality. It is mostly diagnosed by a gold standard diagnostic tool i.e. Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) analysis. However, it is sometimes difficult and or impossible to do this procedure and an alternative diagnostic t...
متن کاملBimodal magnetic resonance imaging-computed tomography nanoprobes: A Review
Bimodal imaging combines two imaging modalities in order to benefit from their advantages and compensate the limitations of each modality. This technique could accurately detect diseases for diagnostic purposes. Nanoparticles simultaneously offer diagnostic data via various imaging modalities owing to their unique properties. Moreover, bimodal nanoprobes could be incorporated into theranostic s...
